Every year, on November 25th, the world unites to observe the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This day is an urgent reminder of the global epidemic of gender-based violence (GBV) that continues to affect millions of women and girls worldwide. From domestic violence and sexual abuse to child marriage and female genital mutilation, the harmful practices that women face daily are a stain on our collective humanity.

At Comfort Empowerment and Advocacy Foundation (CEAF), we are committed to ending these injustices and creating a world where every woman and girl can live free from fear and harm. We believe that awareness is the first step toward lasting change, which is why we have dedicated ourselves to educating communities and advocating for the rights and safety of women.

Through our ongoing School Awareness Drive, CEAF has reached thousands of students across Nigeria. From primary school to senior secondary, we engage with young minds, teaching them the importance of sexual awareness, consent, and prevention strategies. Our interactive sessions not only raise awareness about the risks of gender-based violence but also equip students with the knowledge and tools they need to protect themselves and others.

But awareness alone is not enough. CEAF recognizes the critical need for safe spaces where survivors of gender-based violence can heal, rebuild their lives, and reclaim their dignity. That’s why we are building a Safe Shelter for survivors, providing a secure environment for women who have experienced abuse. This shelter will offer refuge, counseling, legal aid, and access to vital resources, helping these brave women regain their strength and start anew.

We believe that with each session, each campaign, and each shelter, we are taking one step closer to a society where gender-based violence is no longer tolerated. As we observe the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, we call on everyone—governments, organizations, and individuals—to join us in this fight. Together, we can break the silence, challenge the norms that perpetuate violence, and create a world of safety and equality for all women.

Join CEAF in our mission to eliminate violence against women. Stand with survivors. Stand for change.
