The Nigerian government has deported two brothers, Samuel and Samson Ogoshi, to the USA for allegedly extorting young men and teenage boys sexually in the State of Michigan and across the nation.
According to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commision, who confirmed the brothers’ extradition, extradition proceedings against the Ogoshis and one Ezekiel Ejemeh Robert were started at the Federal High Court, Abuja Judicial Division, in May 2023 after they were arrested for the exploitation of minors and the creation of pornography.
The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) made the request that led to this. While the Ogoshis were apprehended sometime in February 2023 around Lagos’ Ojo axis, Ezekiel was apprehended in Nasarawa by EFCC agents.
On December 1, 2022, the Ogoshis and Ezekiel were indicted in a US Federal Court on counts of sexually exploiting juveniles, causing death, and conspiracy to do so by inducing the minors to create child pornographic photos that the defendants later used to extort them.
Additionally, they face charges of conspiring to transfer photos of child pornography to minors, their families, and friends as well as conspiring to engage in online surveillance.
Samuel was accused of specifically contributing to the death of Jordan DeMay, 17, of Marquette, Michigan, who passed away in March 2022 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The three are accused of hacking into some social media accounts while acting as young, attractive ladies to lure unaware victims into sending their sexily explicit photos.
The victims were subsequently subjected to blackmail using these images, which led to their being forced to make significant payments. The penalties for the infractions range from five years to twenty years in prison.
