Mohammed Abubakar, 94, was detained by the police in Adamawa state for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old minor in the Tappare ward of the Ganye local government area.

According to reports, the suspect, a herbalist, had a habit of tricking young girls by feeding them nice things. According to the authorities, the suspect called the victim into his home on August 12 when she was walking by and took advantage of her by establishing an illicit romantic relationship with her.

Investigation has thus far shown that the suspect applied some mixture to the victim in the form of perfume while committing the crime. which, after the encounter, left the sufferer feeling sick. When her mother questioned her, it was because of the illness that she spoke openly to her about what had occurred. Police reported

The victim’s mother reported the event to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ganye.

The state commissioner of police, CP Afolabi Babatola, confirmed the incident and instructed the officer in charge of the command’s Family Support Unit to take over the investigation and ensure thorough prosecution of the offender, according to SP Suleiman Nguroje, the command’s spokesperson.

The Police Chief also appeals to the general public, in especially parents, to keep an eye out for criminally inclined individuals and support the Command’s efforts to combat all types of gender-based violence.
