As police in Asaba rescue a two-year-old kidnapped while playing with pals, two suspects are detained.
A two-year-old child was saved by men from the Delta state police command who also detained two alleged child traffickers. According to a statement made today, August 5, by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Bright Edafe, the command learned on August 3 from a resident of Jaret in Asaba that on August 2, her child Ridwan Ibrahim’m’, age 2, vanished while playing with other kids in the yard of her sister, to whom she had gone to pay a visit, on the day in question.
Based on this evidence, CP Wale Abass, the commissioner of police for Delta State, designated SIB agents to conduct an intelligence-driven investigation. The squad got to work, listening to a suspected person’s phone conversation. As a result, two suspects were apprehended on March 8, 2023: Mallam Sa’ad Ahmed Baba (m), 57, of No. 12 Lagos Street, cable point Asaba, and Halima Abubakar (f), 25, of Jaret cable point Asaba.
