Two years after his son’s death, the late Dowen College student Sylvester Oromoni Junior’s father has not given up on pursuing justice.
In a media interview on Wednesday, Nov. 29, the grieving father promised to see his late son’s lawsuit through to a just conclusion.
He mentioned that his son’s passing will have been two years this Thursday, November 30, 2023.
“After my son was left in the mortuary for two years, I feel obligated to take this step in order to seek justice,” he stated.
“As the deceased’s father, I will not give up or be deterred from seeking justice because I have vowed to bring my son justice, even if it takes 30 years to do so.
“My son passed away two years ago on Thursday, November 30, 2023, and his body is still at the mortuary, unburied.
“May Sylvester Oromoni Jr.’s soul and all other departed souls rest in eternal peace. Amen.
On November 30, 2021, Oromoni Junior passed away. It was claimed that five of his coworkers had physically assaulted him.
Dowen College denied the allegation, stating that the kid was hurt while playing football with his friends.
Oromoni died in January 2022 from “acute lung injury due to chemical intoxication,” according to the results of the first autopsy, although these findings were later refuted.
A second finding was provided by the Lagos Department of Public Prosecution (DPP), stating that Oromoni passed away naturally.
The grieving family has pledged to take the lawsuit all the way to the highest court, and it has been in court since 2022.
According to Oromoni’s mother, her son was healthy before to the Dowen event.
